Why an Evaluation After a Car Accident Is Worth Considering
· · 1 min read · Castelli Chiropractic Center

Adrenaline is good at hiding things. It is common to feel relatively normal at the scene of a collision and noticeably worse two days later.
Why symptoms can be delayed
Soft-tissue irritation and muscle guarding often develop over the hours following a collision. Stiffness, headache, and reduced neck motion frequently appear on the second or third day rather than immediately.
What an early evaluation offers
An early evaluation establishes a clear record of your condition and identifies findings that may warrant further investigation or referral. It also gives you information: what is limited, what is not, and what the reasonable next steps are.
- A documented baseline of symptoms and findings
- Identification of anything that needs medical referral
- Guidance on activity while you recover
- A conservative care discussion if findings support it
When to go elsewhere first
Head injury, confusion, loss of consciousness, severe pain, numbness or weakness, or difficulty breathing require emergency medical care. If you are unsure, call 911 or go to an emergency department.
